{"id":270,"date":"2018-03-26T14:31:54","date_gmt":"2018-03-26T19:31:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.americanhifi.com\/wp2018\/?post_type=product&#038;p=270"},"modified":"2022-05-26T13:56:57","modified_gmt":"2022-05-26T18:56:57","slug":"faroudja-vp400a-line-quadrupler-video-processor","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/dev.americanhifi.com\/wp2018\/product\/faroudja-vp400a-line-quadrupler-video-processor\/","title":{"rendered":"Faroudja VP400A Line Quadrupler \/ Video Processor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Faroudja VP400A Video Processor is a precision video instrument used to convert NTSC Composite, Y\/C, or 525 line RGB or Component interlaced signals into 1050 line progressive outputs.<br \/>\nUsing the VP400A Video Processor will produce<br \/>\npictures with more details, remove unwanted picture<br \/>\nartifacts and, when used with projection systems,<br \/>\nproduce pictures of exceptional quality, giving a<br \/>\ncinema-like feeling.<br \/>\nFront panel features include Power, Input Select<br \/>\n(Video, Y\/C, RGB and Component), Brightness,<br \/>\nContrast, Color, Auto-Tint, Noise Reduction, Detail,<br \/>\nDigital Filter and Freeze. Input switch settings are<br \/>\nmemorized when the power is removed from the<br \/>\nunit. This allows the VP400A to be interfaced into a<br \/>\nsystem without the need to select the input when<br \/>\nthe system is powered up. The remaining controls<br \/>\nmay be left in factory preset or manually set by<br \/>\npulling out and rotating the control until the desired<br \/>\nlevel is established.<br \/>\nInputs to the VP400A include: Composite Video,<br \/>\nY\/C (S-VHS), RGB and Component (Y,R-Y,B-Y). The<br \/>\nVideo input may be connected by either a BNC connection<br \/>\nor a video RCA type connection. These<br \/>\ninputs are looped internally so that the signal may<br \/>\nbe used by other devices. A selectable 75 Ohm terminator<br \/>\nswitch is provided and should be in the ON<br \/>\nposition if the input loop is not used. The Y\/C input<br \/>\nuses a standard 4 pin S-VHS connector. This input<br \/>\nis not available for a looped operation and is terminated<br \/>\ninternally. The RGB and Component inputs<br \/>\nuse BNC connectors. As with the video input, these<br \/>\ninputs are loopable to other devices. Selectable 75<br \/>\nOhm terminations are provided. If the looped inputs<br \/>\nare used, these cables should be kept short, (under<br \/>\n6&#8242; in length) or a video distribution amplifier should<br \/>\nbe used. This allows the VP400A to keep the highest<br \/>\nsignal bandwidth possible without having the<br \/>\nhigh frequency being attenuated in a long cable.<br \/>\nOutput from the VP400A is provided on six BNC<br \/>\nconnectors as well as one 15 pin D&#x2122; connector. The<br \/>\nBNC outputs provided are Red, Green, Blue,<br \/>\nHorizontal Sync, Vertical Sync and Composite Sync.<br \/>\nInterface to monitors\/projectors can be of a 4 or 5<br \/>\nwire connection. Note: 4 wire, meaning Red, Green,<br \/>\nBlue and Composite Sync or 5 wire, meaning Red,<br \/>\nGreen, Blue, Horizontal Sync and Vertical Sync.<br \/>\nThere is no sync present on the Green output. The<br \/>\nVP400A is capable of driving a monitor\/projector<br \/>\nusing the BNC outputs as well as a 15 pin &#x2122; connector,<br \/>\nat the same time. The monitor and projector<br \/>\nhave to scan at 62.94KHz Horizontal scan rate.<br \/>\nThe VP400A features a RS-232 remote control<br \/>\ninterface that will allow control of all line quadrupler<br \/>\nfunctions.
